Updated COVID-19 Policies (April 2021)

As of June 1, 2021, Midway Animal Hospital will begin welcoming in-hospital appointments. We are focused on continuing to provide superior veterinary care while maintaining a safe environment for our staff and clients.

Please be assured that none of our doctors or staff are exhibiting signs of COVID-19. Also, none of our staff has been knowingly exposed to COVID-19 or traveled outside of the U.S. since January 1, 2020.

In our hospital, we are continuing to use recommended disinfecting protocols, personal protective equipment, and physical distancing guidelines to minimize the possibility of transmitting the coronavirus to you or your family members and amongst our staff.

The following are our updated COVID-19 protocols. These protocols have been developed based on recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA).

  • If you’re experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath or have been in contact with someone showing those symptoms or who tested positive for COVID-19, please call us at (770) 475-2003 to reschedule your pet’s appointment unless a healthy family representative can bring them to the hospital.
  • Please wear a face mask that covers your mouth and nose when talking with our staff outside of the clinic or while in the clinic. Masks will be required regardless of COVID-19 vaccine status. If you have health conditions which prevent you from wearing a mask at all times, you must remain curbside for your appointments until the CDC guidelines have changed.
  • When scheduling your appointment, please request a curbside service or in-hospital appointment
    • Curbside Service – You will be allowed to remain in your car throughout the duration of the appointment. A technician will call you to check in your pet before picking your pet up from your car. All communications with the veterinarian will be via phone. A doctor will call you with exam findings and recommendations prior to finishing the appointment. At the end of the appointment, a client service representative will call you for payment and e-mail a paid invoice.
    • In-Hospital Appointment – A technician will meet you and your pet at your car to show you to the exam room. Each pet can be accompanied by ONE family member with the exception being end of life care. Our staff will hold all pets during the exam. At the end of the appointment, check-out will occur in the exam room and a staff member will escort you back outside.
    • At this time, all other appointments (drop offs, grooming, surgery drop offs, and technician appointments) will be curbside service only.
    • Food and medicine pick up will also continue to be curbside service only.
  • When you arrive for your pet’s appointment or to pick up food/medicine, please park in any one of the spaces near our front door and call us at 770-475-2003. Please let us know your car make, model, and color when you call us.
  • Also available for clients who are not yet ready to visit the hospital, medication/food refills can be ordered directly from our online pharmacy. These products will be shipped directly to your front door. This is a great resource to ensure proper social distancing, but still provide necessary medications and nutritional products.

Thank you for your patience as we move one more step towards normalcy. We look forward to meeting with you and your pets again!

If you have any questions or concerns, as always feel free to call.

Sincerely,

Drs. Charles Lobeck and Meredith Stallings-Pavlovsky
Midway Animal Hospital

*Update* May 21, 2020

Midway Animal Hospital has resumed scheduling of all appointments. This includes all exams, surgeries, grooming, bath and boarding services.

We are still committed to doing our part to slow down the spread of Coronavirus. We will continue with our enhanced cleaning protocols, curbside appointments and taking payments over the phone.

We also want to thank all our clients for being understanding and patient as our protocols continue to change due to the pandemic. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to discuss in more detail.

Sincerely,

Charles Lobeck, DVM and Meredith Stallings-Pavlovsky, DVM

*Update* April, 3, 2020

Under Governor Kemp’s Executive Order issued on 4/2 and effective on 4/3, veterinarians are defined as being part of the “Critical Infrastructure”.

As a result of Governor Kemp’s order, Midway Animal Hospital WILL remain open to keep pets healthy and comfortable.

To ensure the safety and health of our staff and our community we feel it is of the upmost importance to follow government and veterinary leader’s recommendations as to what is an essential service that we offer. Because of this, some of our services will not be offered during the mandated Georgia Shelter in Place Executive Order.

We will continue to provide care for sick animals. We will also continue with wellness exams (when there are concerns and/or vaccines are needed), puppy/kitten vaccine appointments, and exams where a condition affects the comfort of the pet. Surgeries will be limited to emergency procedures or to relieve discomfort for a pet. Spays and neuters will be considered on a case by case basis.  We will also continue to refill medications and prescription diets.

Wellness exams (where the pet is healthy and no vaccines are needed), grooming services, and kennel baths, will be postponed until the Executive Order has been removed.

We are committed to doing our part to slow down the spread of Coronavirus. We will continue with our enhanced cleaning protocols, curbside appointments and taking payments over the phone. We hope everyone remains healthy and safe. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to discuss in more detail.

Sincerely,

Charles Lobeck, DVM and Meredith Stallings-Pavlovsky, DVM

*Update* March 18, 2020

Due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and recent updates to national guidelines our hospital will ONLY be providing curbside service.

If you and your pet are here for an appointment, please call us from your car.

A history will be taken over the phone and a technician will bring your pet into the hospital as you wait in the comfort of your car.

After your pet is examined, a doctor will call you to discuss exam findings and recommended treatments.

Payment (credit cards and checks) will be taken at your car when your pet is returned.

Please note:

  • Our staff will only be allowed to use hospital leashes during this time.
  • The only exclusions to the new policy are for extreme emergency cases and euthanasia. (At the discretion of the hospital)

If you need to pick up any medications or food, please call us and we will deliver it to your car.

If you or any of your family members at home have had a positive test for COVID-19 or over the last 72 hours have experienced fever, trouble breathing, coughing and/or sore throat, please call to make alternative arrangements.

These alternative arrangements include:

  • Rescheduling any nonurgent appointments.
  • Having someone else bring your pet to the appointment.
  • If your pet is experiencing an urgent need, please call to discuss the appropriate protocol.

Please understand that we are taking the federal recommendations very seriously with hopes of protecting our clients, staff and community.
