Emergency ServicesSometimes we just can’t plan for our pets’ health. If you have an emergency, Midway Animal Hospital is here to help you during our regular business hours:

  • Monday-Friday 8am to 6pm
  • Saturday 8am to 12pm
  • Sunday closed

While we strive to take walk-in emergencies, it is essential to be prepared for any emergency, please try to call ahead of your arrival: 770-475-2003

How do you know if your pet needs emergency help? Here are situations that typically warrant urgent care:

  • Extreme or long-term vomiting and diarrhea
  • Blood in the urine or stool
  • Respiratory distress (difficulty breathing)
  • Blood loss
  • Heat stress or exhaustion
  • Toxin ingestion (eating poison, such as rodent poison or antifreeze)
  • Vehicular trauma (hit by a car)
  • Deep lacerations or wounds with heavy bleeding
  • Bite wounds or injuries from dog or cat fights
  • Broken limbs, inability to walk
  • Bloat (AKA gastric dilation volvulus or GVD)
  • Collapse
  • Seizures

You know your pet best. If you are concerned, please call Midway Animal Hospital or either of the listed emergency hospitals immediately if you believe your dog or cat is in need of emergency care.
